What is Fortua?

Fortua is an insight- and reward-based crowdfunding and resource-sharing platform for outdoor, adventure, and active lifestyle endeavors, including athletic pursuits, outdoor expeditions, gear ideas, fitness tech ideas, events, nature retreats, documentary films, charitable fundraisers and more.

Campaign creators run campaigns on Fortua to make their endeavors happen or to raise funds for charity. Backers support campaign creators by making financial or non-financial (e.g. gear, supplies, expertise, volunteer time) contributions to their campaigns. In exchange for support, campaign creators share their insights and experiences with their backers as their endeavor unfolds, and they also thank their backers with rewards (or perks) at the end of their endeavor.

Fortua is passionate about helping you do what you love to do as well as helping the planet. One percent of Fortua's revenue is donated annually to 1% for the Planet to protect natural places and wildlife for generations to come. If you have an outdoor, adventure, or active lifestyle pursuit or project that you’d like to make happen, then Fortua is the platform for you!

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a collaborative form of fundraising enabled by technology platforms like Fortua that bring communities of people together to collectively fund pursuits and projects that they want to see in the world.

What can be funded on Fortua?

If you have an idea that involves the outdoors, adventure, active lifestyle, or sustainability and it meets our guidelines, then it can probably be funded on Fortua. The key is to develop a compelling campaign and a community of backers who want to help you make your idea a reality. Campaigns can be run to fund the entire cost of a pursuit or project, to raise funds for charity, or to raise funds for a discrete component (e.g. equipment, airfare, etc.) of a pursuit or project.

What are campaigns?

Campaigns are fundraising initiatives that are created and launched on Fortua. Creating a campaign on Fortua is easy and free, and campaign creators can customize their campaign pages based on their unique needs. Campaigns can be run to make a pursuit or project happen or to raise funds for charity. All campaigns must meet our guidelines.

What are pursuits?

Pursuits cover a wide range of outdoor, adventure, or active lifestyle endeavors, including action sports; adventure travel; endurance sports; exploration and discovery; fitness and active lifestyle; and treks, hikes, and retreats. To qualify for Fortua, all pursuits must have a clear objective, beginning, and end. Example pursuits include: running a marathon for the first time; a weekend yoga retreat; a one month trek in Nepal; a two-week climbing expedition in Patagonia; swimming the English Channel for charity; and a three-day nature retreat for city youth, among many other possible pursuits. We want to help you do what you love to do, so dream big, and let’s make it happen!

What are projects?

Projects typically involve the development of something tangible (e.g. a gadget, film, image, book). To qualify for Fortua, all projects must have a clear objective, beginning, and end. Example projects include: creating a community garden; creating a documentary film on big wave surfing; developing a next-generation wearable fitness device; designing a more protective snowboarding helmet; and writing a book about the Iditarod, among many other possible projects. If you have a project that you've been thinking about, we want to help you make it happen!

Do campaigns need to be pre-approved on Fortua?

Yes. All campaigns need to be pre-approved by Fortua before they go live. This ensures that each campaign meets our guidelines.

Who can use Fortua?

  • Fortua campaign creators must be 18 years of age or older; must be permanent residents of the U.S. with a Social Security Number (SSN); must have a U.S. mailing address; must have a U.S. bank account; must have a valid U.S. state-issued ID (e.g. a driver’s license); and must hold a major credit or debit card.
  • For profit or 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that wish to run campaigns on Fortua must be headquartered in the U.S. with a valid EIN; must have a U.S. mailing address; must have a valid registration/license to operate in the U.S.; and must have a U.S. bank account.
  • Fortua is open to campaign contributors (backers) from all over the world. Backers can donate from anywhere in the world, on any device with an internet connection.

What are campaign creators?

Campaign creators are individuals or groups who create campaigns on Fortua.

What are backers?

Backers are individuals or groups who support campaign creators. In exchange for support, backers receive insights and updates from campaign creators as their pursuit or project unfolds. They also receive rewards from campaign creators at the end of their pursuit or project.

What are insights?

Insights are updates, information, and experiences that campaign creators share with backers as their pursuit or project unfolds. Insights can be written, photo, or video updates, and campaign creators can share their insights using Fortua's update feature which sends an email to backers each time an update is posted. Campaign creators can also use other social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, Instagram, Strava, etc.) to share their insights with backers.

What are rewards?

Rewards are the benefits (or perks) that backers receive from campaign creators at the end of their pursuit or project. Rewards are related to the pursuit or project, and they are typically tiered based on contribution amount. They can be tangible items (e.g. a film, image, book, gadget, etc.), unique or one-of-a-kind experiences, special recognition, or tokens of appreciation, in addition to many other creative and meaningful rewards that backers appreciate. If a campaign is focused purely on raising funds for a charitable cause then it does not necessarily need to include rewards. The campaign creator can choose whether or not to include rewards based on the type of campaign that they wish to run. If a campaign includes rewards, then the campaign creator is responsible for delivering rewards (by airmail, ground shipping, etc.) at the end of their pursuit or project.

What are commitments?

Commitments are non-monetary requests of support. Campaign creators can choose to add commitments to their campaigns if they wish to. Typical commitment requests include gear, supplies, expertise, and volunteers. Backers generally receive recognition or perks from campaign creators in exchange for making non-monetary commitments to a campaign. Example commitments include an event director requesting volunteers, a cyclist requesting technical bike support, or a documentary filmmaker requesting an underwater camera, among many other possibilities.

Can campaign creators offer equity or other investment incentives to backers?

No. Fortua is an insight- and reward-based crowdfunding platform. Backers receive insights and rewards in exchange for contributing to a pursuit or project. Campaign creators cannot offer investment incentives (e.g. equity, repayment with interest, etc.) to backers. If a campaign is for charity and it qualifies, then it may offer donation receipts (for tax deduction purposes) to backers, but it cannot offer equity or other investment incentives to backers.

What is a funding goal?

Funding goal is the fundraising target for a campaign. Campaign creators establish their funding goal based on the specific funding requirements for their pursuit or project.

What is campaign type?

Campaign type is the campaign funding model that a campaign creator chooses to run on Fortua. Campaign creators can run one of two campaign types: Keep-it-all or All-or-nothing.

What is keep-it-all funding?

Keep-it-all campaigns are best for charitable or cause-related fundraisers (e.g. running a marathon for charity or helping an injured athlete, etc.). With keep-it-all, the campaign creator (or the charity that the campaign is being run on behalf of) keeps all funds raised regardless of whether or not the campaign reaches its funding goal. For a charitable campaign to qualify for donation receipts (for tax deduction purposes), the charity must be a qualified 501(c)(3); funds raised must go directly to the charity itself; and no goods or services can be provided to backers in exchange for financial support.

What is all-or-nothing funding?

All-or-nothing campaigns are best for pursuits or projects that require a specific funding amount to happen (e.g. an event, film, expedition, product, etc.). All-or-nothing means that campaign creators must reach their funding goal in the length of time specified for their campaign in order to receive funds. If a campaign does not reach its funding goal by the deadline, then no fees are applied, backers are not charged, and no money changes hands between backers and campaign creators. If a campaign reaches or exceeds its funding goal by the deadline, then the money raised, less fees, is sent directly to the campaign creator to make their pursuit or project happen. All-or-nothing ensures that campaign creators have the funds required to complete their pursuit or project, and it protects backers from contributing to a campaign that cannot be completed because of insufficient funds.

Why would I use all-or-nothing funding?

All-or-nothing funding:

  • Works best for pursuits or projects that require a threshold funding amount to make happen (e.g. an event, film, expedition, product, etc.)
  • Ensures that campaign creators have the funds required to complete their pursuit or project
  • Protects backers from contributing to a campaign that cannot be completed because of insufficient funds
  • Serves as a powerful motivator and increases the likelihood that a campaign will be successful

Is it free to start a fundraising campaign on Fortua?

Yes. It’s free to start a fundraising campaign on Fortua. All you need to do is sign up, create your fundraising page, and start fundraising.

What are Fortua’s fees?

For keep-it-all campaigns Fortua applies a 5% platform fee on all funds raised by the campaign and our payment processor, WePay, charges 2.9% + $0.30 per backer contribution. These fees are assessed regardless of whether or not the campaign reaches its funding goal.

For all-or-nothing campaigns the following fees are assessed only if the campaign is successful in reaching its funding goal by the campaign deadline:

  • A 5% platform fee on all funds raised by the campaign; and
  • A payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per backer contribution (assessed by WePay, our payment processor)

If a campaign does not reach its funding goal by the deadline, then no fees are applied, backers are not charged, and no money changes hands between backers and campaign creators.

To learn more check out our pricing and fees.

What currency does Fortua use?

Fortua uses U.S. Dollars.

Does Fortua take a percent of ownership of campaigns?

No. Campaign creators keep 100% ownership of their work. Fortua does not claim ownership to campaign creators’ content, pursuits, projects, or work product.

Do backers take a percent of ownership of the campaigns that they support?

No. Campaign creators keep 100% ownership of their work. Backers do not claim ownership or any intellectual property rights to campaign creators’ content, pursuits, projects, or work product.

Does Fortua guarantee pursuits and projects?

No. We started Fortua as a way to help make outdoor, adventure, and activate lifestyle pursuits and projects happen in the world. Many of these would never have a chance through traditional funding approaches that are highly selective and risk-averse. Fortua increases access to funds, allowing more campaign creators to connect with communities of backers who want to see their pursuits or projects become a reality. As a result, Fortua attracts innovative, imaginative, adventurous, and ambitious pursuits and projects. This is what makes Fortua great. Campaign creators and their backers understand that they are helping to make something new and unique happen in the world, and that there is risk associated with this. Consequently, there are no guarantees. Campaign creators are expected to use their best efforts to reach their funding goal, to complete their pursuit or project, and to fulfill their obligations to backers. If they do not, they may be subject to legal action by their backers. Campaign creators are also highly visible and they are typically funded by family, friends, and fans. These are powerful social forces that keep campaign creators accountable, and so it is rare to find a campaign that does not use its best effort and deliver on its promises. Still, there are no guarantees. For more on campaign creators’ legal obligations to backers, see our Terms of Use.

How do I know if my campaign qualifies for Fortua?

If you have a campaign that involves anything related to the outdoors, adventure, active lifestyle, or sustainability, and it meets our guidelines, then it probably qualifies for Fortua. Do campaign creators keep 100% ownership of their work?

Yes. Campaign creators keep 100% ownership of their work. Fortua and its backers do not claim any ownership rights.

Can I run a campaign to raise funds for charity?

Yes. You can run campaigns on Fortua to raise funds for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (e.g. charitable, educational, scientific, etc.) that are registered in the United States.

How do I find out if the charity that I want to raise funds for is a U.S. registered 501(c)(3)?

To verify that your organization qualifies for Fortua and is a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, check GuideStar. GuideStar pre-qualifies and verifies charitable organizations from IRS records and public data. If the organization that you want to raise funds for is on GuideStar then it qualifies for Fortua.

How can I set up my charitable campaign to offer tax deductions to backers?

In order to offer tax deductions:

  • Your campaign must be focused on raising funds for a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. To verify that your organization qualifies check GuideStar. GuideStar verifies charitable organizations from IRS records and public data. If the organization that you want to raise funds for is on GuideStar then it qualifies.
  • Contributions to your campaign must go directly to the 501(c)(3) organization that you are supporting. This is easy to set up with WePay, Fortua’s payment processor.
  • No goods or services can be provided to your backers in exchange for their financial contributions to your campaign. You can offer recognition, thanks, kudos, insights and updates, just no tangible goods or services. Please consult a qualified tax specialist if you have questions about this.
  • The name of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that you are supporting must be included in the title of your campaign.
  • The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that you are supporting must send donation receipts to your backers confirming that their contributions are tax-deductible. To make this easy, Fortua can provide a list of backer names, email addresses, contribution dates, and contribution amounts that you can send to your 501(c)(3) organization in order to issue donation receipts.

After you’ve confirmed each of the above, your campaign should qualify to offer tax deductions to backers.

Can campaign creators offer equity or other investment incentives to backers?

How long can I run my campaign for?

Campaigns can run for up to 90 days. We recommend 30 days or less because campaigns that run for 30 days or less typically have higher success rates than longer campaigns.

Can I run more than one campaign at once?

Yes, but running a successful campaign requires focused effort, time, and attention. Managing more than one campaign at once can be a challenge and it can make reaching your funding goal for any one campaign even more difficult. For this reason, we recommend focusing on one campaign at a time. This will increase your likelihood of success!

What happens if my all-or-nothing campaign does not reach its funding goal?

If your all-or-nothing campaign does not reach its funding goal by the campaign deadline, then no fees are applied, your backers are not charged, and no money ever changes hands between you and your backers.

Can I run my all-or-nothing campaign again if it is not successful the first time?

Yes. You can always try again. We recommend that you take the time it takes to learn why your initial campaign was not successful, and then improve your campaign to increase its chances for success. Your community of backers will take notice and this will help. Your original campaign fundraising page will be available to you for reference, so you can copy and paste any content that has not changed to your new campaign page. Contact us if we can help in any way!

Can my campaign raise more than its funding goal?

Yes, absolutely. Campaigns remain active until the campaign deadline. If a campaign exceeds its funding goal, it keeps all additional funds raised by the campaign deadline.

How do I receive my funds?

If you are running a keep-it-all campaign then you will receive funds as backers make contributions to your campaign.

If you are running an all-or-nothing campaign AND your campaign is successful in reaching its funding goal by the deadline, then you will receive funds at the end of your campaign.

As part of the campaign creation process, you will be prompted to create a WePay account to link to your campaign. You will also be prompted to link your bank account to your WePay account to ensure that funds are seamlessly transferred from WePay to your bank account. WePay is Fortua’s secure payment processor. All contributions that are made to your campaign will be processed by WePay and then transferred to your bank account. You can choose to set up weekly or monthly fund transfers from WePay to your bank account. Setting all of this up is super easy, it's all part of Fortua’s step-by-step campaign development process. And if you need help, we are here to help!

Are campaign creators obligated to fulfill the promises of their campaigns?

Yes. When a campaign creator posts a campaign on Fortua, they are inviting other people to form a contract with them. Anyone who contributes to (or backs) a campaign is accepting this offer, and is forming a contract with the campaign creator. Fortua is not part of this contract. The contract is a legal agreement between the campaign creator and his/her backers. Campaign creators are obligated to fulfill the promises of their campaign, pursuit, or project as part of this contract. If they fail to do so, they may be subject to legal action by their backers. For more on this see our Terms of Use.

How do I share updates and insights with my backers?

Fortua’s platform makes it easy to keep your backers up-to-date as your pursuit or project unfolds. The “Updates” feature of your campaign page can be used to share written, photo, or video updates with your backers. The updates you post will automatically be emailed to all of your backers. Remember that your backers are interested in what you are doing, so share your insights and experiences with them!

In addition to Fortua’s update feature, can I use other social media platforms to keep my backers up-to-date?

Yes! Fortua thrives on sharing and building communities of campaign creators, backers, and other interested parties, including the media and anyone else who wants to learn more about what you are doing! You can share your campaign page through Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter, and you can encourage backers and others to follow you on the social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, Instagram, Strava etc.) that you like to use. Just be sure to let your backers know how they can follow you on these platforms. A simple way to do this is to post an update on your campaign page with links and instructions on how your backers can follow you.

Do I have to share every insight with backers, including confidential information?

No. Your insights and information are yours. You are expected to share insights with your backers, but this does not mean sharing proprietary or confidential information, particularly if you are under a non-disclosure agreement with another party. If you are under an agreement, then it is important to abide by this. Your backers are interested in what you are doing and they want to learn from you and share in your experiences, but share only what you are comfortable sharing. The more authentic, candid, insightful, and real you are with what you are experiencing the better, but again only share what you are comfortable sharing.

What should I do if I am having a difficult time completing my pursuit or project?

If problems arise, campaign creators are expected to post updates (which are emailed to backers) explaining the situation. Campaign creators who are open about the difficulties they are facing will typically garner support from their backer community.

It is not uncommon for things to hit a speed bump or to take longer than expected. Sometimes the completion of a pursuit or project proves more difficult than the campaign creator had anticipated. Sometimes things outside of the campaign creator’s control impact progress. Whatever the issue, if the campaign creator is using his/her best effort to complete the pursuit or project as planned, and they are being open and transparent about the challenges, then backers should be patient and understanding. At the same time, backers should expect ongoing communication and accountability from campaign creators.

If the challenges are so significant that the campaign creator cannot fulfill his/her pursuit or project as promised, then the campaign creator must find an alternative way to satisfy his/her contract with backers. Options include: completing an alternative form of the pursuit or project; offering refunds; detailing exactly how funds were used and what was learned; and other actions or creative solutions that will make the agreement between the campaign creator and his/her backers whole.

Can campaign creators refund their backers?

Yes, campaign creators can refund their backers directly. Prior to issuing any refunds we recommend exploring alternative forms of a pursuit or project that may be equally meaningful to everyone involved. If refunds must be issued, then this is the campaign creator’s sole responsibility. Campaign creators receive all funds (less fees). Fortua does not hold these funds, and therefore refunds must be handled between campaign creators and their backers directly.

Is a video required for my campaign fundraising page?

Videos are not required, but campaigns with videos are more successful than campaigns without videos. We recommend that you include a video. Creating an engaging video does not need to be expensive or time consuming. Some of the best videos we’ve seen are simple mobile phone videos. A video that explains who you are; what your pursuit or project is; why you are doing it; your funding goal; how the funds will be used; your insights and rewards (if applicable); and why people should back you, can have a huge impact, particularly if it is delivered in a sincere and relatable way. If people watching the video feel a connection to you and your purpose, you are on your way to success! Just be sure to make your video short and sweet - one to three minutes is all you need. Any more than that and you risk losing your audience.

Backing a Campaign

Why do people back campaigns?

People back campaigns for a variety of reasons. Many are rallying around their friends or family members. Others are inspired by what the campaign seeks to accomplish. Others are moved by the cause. Others like the feeling they get from helping. Others are interested in gaining an inside view into the pursuit or project they are backing. Others are fans of the rewards (or perks) the campaign is offering. Others want to support the work of someone they admire. Whatever the reason, backers are helping to put something new and different into the world, and that is worth getting behind!

What do backers get in return for their support?

Backers who support campaign creators get an inside view into their pursuit or project as it unfolds. This inside view is provided by campaign creators themselves. Backers also get to choose from a variety of rewards offered by campaign creators. Rewards are perks that backers receive at the end of a pursuit or project. Rewards can be tangible items (e.g. a film, image, book, gadget, etc.), one-of-a-kind experiences, special recognition, or tokens of appreciation offered by campaign creators. For qualified campaigns that are focused on raising funds for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, backers may also receive tax-deductible donation receipts for their contributions.

How can I find campaigns to back?

It’s easy. Go to the top of this page and click "Discover Campaigns". You can peruse campaign badges and click on them to learn more. You can also browse campaigns by category. If, for example, you are interested in outdoor gear and technology, you can click “Gear, Equipment, Technology” to see all of the campaigns in this category. You can also use our search feature to search for campaigns by keyword.

How do backers know if a pursuit or project will follow through?

Campaign creators are in the spotlight when they launch a campaign on Fortua. Their reputations are at risk if they do something to damage their relationship with backers. This is a powerful motivator. Campaign creators recognize the value of their backer community, and they will typically do everything they can to deliver on their promises. For this reason, it is rare to find a campaign creator who does not follow-through. If an all-or-nothing campaign is successfully funded, campaign creators also have a legal obligation to use their best efforts to deliver on the promises of their campaign. If they are unable to do so, they may be subject to legal action by their backers. For more on this see our Terms of Use.

Who is responsible for fulfilling the promises of a campaign?

Campaign creators are responsible for fulfilling the promises of their campaign.

Campaign creators are also expected to have the skill, training, and experience necessary to complete their pursuit or project. Backers are responsible for evaluating campaign creators and their ability to complete a pursuit or project. Backers should only support campaign creators who they believe have a clear plan and the qualifications to execute on the plan. Campaign creators are encouraged to share as much information as possible to help backers make informed decisions about which pursuits and projects they are going to support.

The web is an excellent resource for learning about campaign creators. Use your search savvy to learn more. If it is hard to find demonstrable prior experience, or if something sounds too good to be true, it very well may be. Do your homework and only back campaigns and campaign creators you believe in.

Can I make an anonymous contribution?

Yes. There is a checkbox that you can select when making a contribution that will allow you to contribute anonymously.

How do I know if my contribution was processed?

We will send you a confirmation email when your contribution is pre-approved for processing by the campaign that you contributed to. Keep-it-all campaigns process all contributions as they come in. All-or-nothing campaigns will only process contributions if the campaign is successful in reaching its funding goal by the campaign deadline. Typically it takes a few days for processed contributions to show up on your statement. You will also receive a confirmation email from WePay, our payment processor, when your contribution has been fully processed.

Who do I contact if I have a question about my contribution?

If you have a question about your contribution, how it is being used, the reward you selected etc. please contact your campaign creator. If you have a question that cannot be answered by your campaign creator, please contact us, and we will be happy to help.

Where is my reward?

Rewards are distributed at the end of a pursuit or project. Receiving your reward often takes time. Selecting a reward in exchange for your contribution is not the same as buying something online. Rewards require time, effort, and energy to create and distribute. Your campaign creator should keep you up-to-date on the status of your reward. If you have a question about your reward, please contact your campaign creator directly.

Is my information secure?

Fortua is committed to your security and privacy. We use industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to ensure that your information is secure and kept private. We also hold an Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificate, the highest level for online data security. Sites secured with an EV SSL Certificate, like Fortua and WePay (our payment processor), display a green padlock and green address bar in the browser. This is all to say that Fortua takes your online security seriously and we are committed to protecting your information. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

What is the minimum amount that I can contribute?

You can contribute as little as $5 to a campaign.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Most campaigns do not offer tax deductions. Contributions are made in exchange for insights and rewards from campaign creators and do not qualify for tax deductions. Campaigns being run by qualified 501(c)(3) organizations (or on behalf of a qualified 501(c)(3) organization) may offer donation receipts for tax deduction purposes. If this is the case, it should be clearly noted on the campaign fundraising page. If you have questions about tax deductions, we recommend you contact the campaign creator directly to find out if your contribution is tax deductible. Donation receipts (for tax deduction purposes) should come directly from the 501(c)(3) organization that you contributed to.

Where can I get a tax deductible donation receipt for my contribution?

First you need to confirm that your contribution is eligible for tax deduction. The best way to do this is to contact the campaign creator directly to find out if your contribution is tax deductible.

If your contribution is eligible for tax deduction then you will need an electronic or paper donation receipt with your name, the date of your contribution, the amount of your contribution, the name of the nonprofit organization that you contributed to, and a statement indicating that “no goods or services were provided to you in exchange for your contribution, and that your contribution was made to a 501(c)(3) organization and is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law". The 501(c)(3) organization that you contributed to should issue this donation receipt to you.

If you have any questions about your donation receipt, please contact the campaign creator directly.

How do I contribute to a campaign?

You can contribute to any active campaign by clicking on the campaign and then clicking “Contribute Now”. You will be asked to enter your contribution amount and select a reward (if applicable to the campaign that you are contributing to). Fortua accepts all major credit cards and all transactions are in U.S. Dollars.

When is my card charged?

If you contribute to a keep-it-all campaign then your card will be charged upon transaction.

If you contribute to an all-or-nothing campaign then your card will be charged at the end of the campaign but ONLY if the campaign reaches or exceeds its funding goal by the deadline. If the campaign does not reach its funding goal, your card will not be charged, and no money will change hands between you and the campaign creator.

If you've contributed to an all-or-nothing campaign you may see a pre-approval or pre-authorization of funds to be charged on your card while the campaign is running. These funds will only be processed and charged on your card if the campaign reaches its funding goal by the deadline. Please note that it typically takes a few days for a pre-authorization to clear and funds to be processed following a successful all-or-nothing campaign.

Can I contribute by check or send cash by mail?

No. Fortua only supports contributions by credit or debit card. If you send a check or cash to the campaign creator outside of Fortua your contribution will not be counted toward the funding goal on the campaign creator's fundraising page. One way to address this is to have someone make a credit or debit card contribution on your behalf and then reimburse them by check or cash. This will ensure that the funds you contribute are applied toward the campaign creator's funding goal. Whomever you reimburse will receive your reward at the end of the pursuit or project and can deliver it to you upon receipt. Any arrangement made like this is your responsibility and the responsibility of others involved. Fortua is not responsible.

Can I make a contribution through Paypal?

Fortua supports all major credit cards and debit cards. We do not support contributions by PayPal at this time.

How will the campaign creator collect my information in order to deliver my reward?

In order to receive your reward, you will need to be sure that your Fortua user settings are up-to-date. Specifically, be sure that your first and last name, email address, and mailing address are current. You can update this information under "Settings". After logging in to Fortua, click "You", then click "Settings" in the drop-down menu. Be sure that all of your information (including your mailing address) is accurate and complete and then click "Save". This will ensure that the campaign creator has your current information. If the campaign creator requires additional information from you (e.g. size, color preference, etc.) he or she will reach out directly by email. If you believe that you have missed an important email, please contact the campaign creator directly.
