NOVEMBER 11TH UPDATE - WE'RE SORRY TO SAY THAT THIS THOUGHT LEADER DINNER WITH FLORENCE WILLIAMS HAS BEEN CANCELLED. IF YOU SIGNED UP, YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST!
Did you know that a typical American checks his/her phone 1,500 times each week? Have you heard the statistics indicating that children spend an average of about seven hours each day on screens and nearly half as much time outdoors as their parents did? Should we be worried about this loss of time spent outside? And have you ever wondered what happens when you spend even five minutes in nature?
Fortua is teaming up with The Corner Stop Eatery for another great Thought Leader Dinner! On November 14th, it will be our pleasure to welcome to the South Shore award-winning journalist and non-fiction author Florence Williams, who will delve into topics covered in her new book, The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative.
As is stated on Williams' website:
From forest trails in Korea, to islands in Finland, to groves of eucalyptus in California, Williams investigates the science at the confluence of environment, mood, health, and creativity. Delving into completely new research, she uncovers the powers of the natural world to improve health, promote reflection and innovation, and ultimately strengthen our relationships. As our modern lives shift dramatically indoors, these ideas—and the answers they yield—are more urgent than ever.
This is going to be a wonderful evening!
