Have your children (or even your children's children) enjoyed fun and fresh air at the little playground in Hingham Centre? The two swings, seesaw, and climbing structure have been fixtures in the neighborhood for decades, and to see them recently covered in bright yellow caution tape has made our hearts sink.
While the playground was closed for safety reasons, local residents have been actively seeking ways to help make it safe again. Happily, the town is prepared to update the three structures and the grounds - but they need our help!
In order to finance the new playground we need to raise $11,000.
Below is the plan for the updated playground - and yes, it includes a seesaw!
Please consider making a donation of any size (every little bit helps!) and also sharing this link with your family and friends.
There are three ways to make a donation:
1) You can support this campaign by simply clicking the orange "Make Payment" button on this page. Please note that donations made through this page are not tax deductible.
A gift account for the playground has been established by the Town of Hingham's Treasurer's Office. To make a tax deductible donation directly to the Town of Hingham, Powers Field Playground, you can either:
2) Write a check made payable to "Town of Hingham, Powers Field Playground", and then put it in the mail to: Town of Hingham, 210 Central Street, Hingham, MA 02043, or
3) Click here to make an online donation via the Town of Hingham's website.
The "Percent Funded" on this page will be updated weekly to reflect both the donations made on this page (those will appear immediately after the payment has been processed) and the donations that are made directly to the town, so be sure to check back often to see how we're progressing towards our goal!
Your contribution will help to ensure that this neighborhood gem continues to delight local children and bring people together for generations to come.
Together, we can make it happen.
Thank you!
