Spring is here, and it's time for us to revitalize our Outdoor Classroom! Please consider supporting our Outdoor Classroom fund, so that we can improve it before the end of our school year, and before our summer programming starts.
We're working with Cohasset's Holly Hill Farm to put an organic fruit and vegetable garden in our Outdoor Classroom. This garden will include raised beds, a composting system, and fencing to keep curious critters out. Once in place, our students will be able to grow fresh fruits and vegetables to eat and to share. Because we offer year-round programming, our students and campers will be able to work in our garden in the spring, summer, and fall... and we'll try our hand at some hardy winter vegetables, too.
We also desperately need to replace the old swing set tower that's there. We'd like to get a new play structure that offers more opportunity for more children to play together.
We would also like to install a wildflower garden, some nicer plantings around our borders, new signage and outdoor play equipment, and some outdoor furniture for teachers and students to use.
We have an ambitious goal, but these improvements are much needed. Any money raised over our goal will go towards additional outdoor and indoor improvements, and financial aid.
The Athenaeum Learning Center is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt educational charity, so your contribution is tax-deductible.
We greatly appreciate your support!
